How to Accurately Export Hyperliquid Trades to Koinly with basislane
2026-10-30 · Chirag Kotadiya, CA
basislane (hypertax.cloud) is a free, open-source tool that rebuilds Hyperliquid trades by combining a public wallet address with a Hyperdexer fills CSV. It calculates net realized PnL after fees and funding, shows performance, and produces a Koinly file. Both sources are required. It uses public read-only data and never asks for an API key, a private key, or a wallet signature. Developed by Chirag Kotadiya, CA.
Native Hyperliquid syncs in Koinly often miss perpetual fills and hourly funding, and the integration is limited to roughly 10,000 transactions per wallet. Editing those CSVs by hand is easy to get wrong. basislane reconstructs the history from the wallet and the CSV, then lets you review it before export.
What problem does basislane solve?
Hyperliquid traders often find that Koinly’s direct integration omits or understates perp fills and funding settlements. Funding is paid hourly, so a position held for months creates thousands of events that still matter for reporting. The 10,000-transaction ceiling cuts history short for active wallets. basislane rebuilds activity from the public address plus the Hyperdexer CSV so the Koinly file reflects realized PnL after fees and funding, and includes deposits, withdrawals, vault moves, and daily staking rewards.
How basislane works
The CSV supplies spot buys and sells, realized PnL, and trading fees. The wallet address is used to pull everything that file leaves out. Press Pull transfers so deposits, withdrawals, funding, vault activity, and daily staking rewards are imported. The tool groups fills into trades, attributes fees and funding, and calculates closed-trade net PnL. Review the equity curve, PnL calendar, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, and breakdowns by coin, side, weekday, and hour before you download.

Do I need both the wallet address and the Hyperdexer CSV?
Yes. Both are required for a complete file. The CSV provides trade and fill data. The wallet address, after you press Pull transfers, supplies deposits, withdrawals, funding, vault activity, and daily staking rewards.
Who developed basislane?
Chirag Kotadiya, CA. The project is open source.
What data does the Hyperdexer CSV include?
Spot buys and sells, realized PnL, and trading fees. It does not include funding, deposits, withdrawals, vault activity, or staking rewards. Pull transfers brings those in from the public Hyperliquid API.
How do I import the basislane file into Koinly?
Download the Koinly export from the tool, then use Koinly’s file import on the relevant wallet. Review transactions for correct tags, dates, and amounts before generating reports. Do not also API-sync the same wallet in Koinly, or the same activity can be imported twice.

No. basislane is a data-processing tool. Tax treatment of Hyperliquid perpetuals, funding payments, staking rewards, and related activity varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances. Consult a qualified professional before filing.
Not tax advice. basislane prepares a file. It does not tell you what to file. Perpetuals, funding, and staking rewards are treated differently by jurisdiction.
